Meet April: A Pillar of The Pioneers Project CIC

At The Pioneers Project CIC, our strength lies in the incredible people who dedicate their time, skills, and passion to creating a positive impact in the community. One such individual is April Howell, one of our directors and a cornerstone of our team.

Ensuring Excellence in Safeguarding and Community Care

April has been involved with The Pioneers Project since its very beginning, bringing a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the community of Barne Barton and beyond. With a background in education and youth work that began at the age of 17, April has spent her career supporting children, young people, and families. Her expertise in safeguarding and school work has been instrumental in shaping the programmes and services we deliver.

As our Designated Safeguarding Officer, April ensures that our organisation operates with the highest standards of safety and care. She plays a critical role in making sure every member of our team is equipped to work safely and effectively within the community. With her teaching diploma and over 13 years of teaching experience, April is a trusted leader who brings both knowledge and compassion to her role.

Commitment to Shared Values and Community Progress

What truly sets April apart is her unwavering passion and dedication to the mission of The Pioneers Project. She describes her involvement as both exciting and challenging—a journey that continuously inspires her to grow and innovate. April is deeply committed to the shared values that unite our team, and it’s this sense of unity and purpose that drives her to help build and expand our projects.

When asked about her experience with The Pioneers Project, April reflects on the close-knit nature of the team and the shared vision that keeps everyone motivated. “We are a close team and have beautiful shared values which help inspire us to continue building the projects,” she shares.
