OUR VISION
To journey with people as they grow in their purpose and identity, helping to connect with various communities.
OUR MISSION
Working holistically to meet individual need, we aspire to reach whole families across Plymouth and surrounding areas as a positive way of shaping a more hopeful future for children and young people. We wish to empower our service users to create lasting and meaningful change as they grow in their purpose and identity. We want to collaborate with like-minded organisations so we can connect with people to provide opportunities to fulfil our mission.
OUR SUPPORTERS
As well as working directly with schools and members of the communities where The Pioneers Project CIC is based, we also have key partnerships with other organisations and funding bodies. Here is a brief outline of these key partners:
LIVEWEST
We work closely with housing association LiveWest on Plymouth estates in Barne Barton and Foxfield, Laira, to deliver projects to local residents. LiveWest lease our community allotment space to us for use on an ongoing basis.
UK YOUTH
As members of UK Youth, we can access a range of opportunities to ensure we are working to best practice guidelines around areas such as safeguarding, as well as take advantage of amazing programmes and materials that benefit our services users.
DEVON COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
Through Devon Community Foundation, we have been able to access seed funding opportunities to help grow our work, specifically the one-to-one support work we offer to schools. DCF is a big supporter of the work we do.
Northbrook Community Trust
Northbrook Community Trust provides funding for our allotment project that allows us to work closely with children from Riverside Community Primary School and the Cabin Nursery in Barne Barton. The funding provides opportunities for children to engage in the outdoors and learn about their natural environment.
Brighter Futures South West
Brighter Futures are a key partner for our one-to-one work as it provides specialist and bespoke therapeutic and psycho-educational interventions and support services for children, young people and adults as well as working with whole families.
Barnardo’s
Barnardo’s partners with us to deliver a hugely successful community café in Plymouth, serving an average of over 40 people each Wednesday morning. We are also delivering other programmes from Barnardo’s venues and are looking to collaborate on other projects in the future.
Step Up Speech and Language Therapy
Step Up helps to support speech, language and communication needs of children and young people to reduce their risk of educational and social exclusion and support them to gain the skills required to see themselves as successful communicators.
Neighbourly, Starbucks, Lidl, M&S, Fareshare & Tesco
We have been fortunate enough to secure support from these organisations to help us successfully deliver the community café. We are blessed to receive free coffee, tea, hot chocolate and food items from Starbucks, whilst also collecting food waste from supermarkets to redistribute to those most in need.
