Community Allotments: Growing Together in Barne Barton

From Crowdfunding to Community Harvests

Our community allotments are a true Barne Barton success story. Thanks to the generosity of local supporters, we crowdfunded £15,000 to secure land and transform it into a shared space for growing, learning, and connecting.

Plots for Everyone

With 23 plots available (and 80% active), there’s room for seasoned gardeners and complete beginners alike. Tools are provided on-site—just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to get your hands dirty!

More Than Just Vegetables

Our allotments are about so much more than growing food. They’re a place to meet neighbours, share tips, and enjoy the outdoors. We’re planning a BBQ to celebrate everyone’s hard work and the completion of the sale as soon as this is finalised—watch this space for details!

Affordable and accessible

Plot rentals range from £20–£40 per year, making it easy for anyone to get involved. We trust our plot-holders to use and return tools, and we’re always here to help with advice or support.
