Serving Up Support in Barne Barton
Every Wednesday The Barn comes alive with the delicious aroma of coffee, food and the
warm buzz of conversation. Our Community Café is so much more than just a place to eat
—it’s a welcoming space where neighbours become friends and everyone is invited to pull
up a chair.
Affordable, Nutritious, and Welcoming to All
We believe good food should be accessible to everyone. That’s why we offer 40
subsidised meals each week for just £1.50 thanks to the National lottery and clarion
futures. Also a free food larder thanks to generous food donations from local supermarkets
like Tesco, Lidl, Coop and Aldi. Whether you’re popping in for a cuppa or staying for lunch,
you’ll find a friendly face and a sense of belonging.
A Lifeline for Many
For some, the café is a chance to get out of the house and connect with others. For others,
it’s the highlight of their week—a place to share stories, laughter, and support. We
regularly hear from visitors who say the café has helped them feel less isolated and more
involved in the community.Through inviting support agencies so many have been lifted out of their struggle and back
on their feet to carry on life.
looking ahead: expanding our impact
Currently, the café operates one day a week, but with planned renovations to bull point
barracks, we’re excited to expand our opening hours and welcome even more people.
Community feedback, gathered through regular surveys and conversations, guides every
step we take.
